Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AutoStruct software

What's included in the free trial?

The 30-day free trial includes full access to all features of the selected product (Beam EC2 or Section EC2). No credit card required to start your trial.

What's the difference between perpetual and subscription?

Perpetual license is a one-time purchase for the current major version. Annual maintenance provides updates, support, and minor version upgrades. Major version upgrades may require additional licensing. Subscription is pay-as-you-go with everything included.

Can I switch between license types?

Yes, you can switch from subscription to perpetual at any time. We'll credit a portion of the remaining subscription period toward the perpetual license.

What's included in annual maintenance?

Maintenance (2,400 SEK/year) includes all updates, bug fixes, new features within your major version, and technical support.

What happens when maintenance expires?

Your software continues working forever with the version you have. You won't receive updates or support until maintenance is renewed. Maintenance can be renewed at any time. Reactivation requires payment for the gap period to receive all updates developed during that time.

Is there an educational discount?

Yes! Educational institutions and students can receive up to 50% discount. Contact us with proof of academic status to receive special pricing.

What are the system requirements?

Our software requires Windows 10, build 19041 or later (64-bit only). The application is self-contained and includes all necessary runtime components. An internet connection is required for activation.

What Eurocode standards are supported?

Beam EC2 supports Eurocode 2 (concrete structures) with Swedish and Norwegian National Annexes currently implemented. Additional National Annexes available upon request. Additional modules for steel and timber are in development.

Can I use the software on multiple computers?

All our licenses are floating network licenses that can be shared across your team. This allows you to install the software on multiple computers and automatically manage license usage across your network.

What is a floating network license?

Floating network licenses allow multiple users to share a pool of licenses across your network. Perfect for teams where not everyone uses the software simultaneously. For example, a team of 20 engineers might only need 3 floating licenses, automatically checking licenses in/out as needed. This can save up to 85% compared to individual licenses.

Are your programs actively developed?

Yes, our programs are actively developed and continuously improved. New features and improvements are added frequently based on user feedback and industry needs, ensuring you always have access to the latest capabilities and best practices in structural engineering.

How does support work?

Support is included with active subscriptions and maintenance plans. We offer email support with typical response times within 24 hours.
