What's New
- The application has a new design. Nothing was recalculated - every value, check and verdict is the one the previous version produced.
- Added a strand pattern library: a strand layout saved on one cross-section can be applied to another.
- 'Design' now searches cross-section sizes as well as reinforcement, ranks what it finds by cost, CO2, steel mass or concrete volume, and follows a run from setup to finished list.
- 'Results' now shows a mark when a result has changed since you last opened the page.
- Circles in an imported drawing can now be declared as voids, reinforcement bars or prestressing strands.
- Beams 1000 mm deep or more are now checked for side reinforcement (7.3.3(3)).
- Added T-sections, available through the Section Picker.
- Flanged sections are now checked for shear between web and flange (6.2.4). Enter the transverse bars crossing the junction, and cot θ_f, beside the links on 'Shear Reinforcement'.
- A prestressed section no longer has to be symmetric about its vertical axis: an imported hollow core slab that is cut or notched, or drawn slightly off centre, now analyses.
Improvements
- A quick pattern now stays with the cross-section: resize it or switch its shape and the bars follow. Editing a bar by hand releases the pattern, and the Reinforcement page says so.
- Bars left outside the cross-section after an edit are now reported on the 'Reinforcement' page itself, with 'Move to cover' and 'Remove' offered there, instead of in a pop-up.
- Design now states when side reinforcement has not been checked for crack control (7.3.3(3)).
- The crack width derivation now names the face that cracked, and lists every evaluated load case with the face it cracked and its crack width.
- Improvements to the user interface across drawing import, 'Prestressing' and 'Reinforcement'; Escape now cancels an edit in progress or closes the window.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where Design reported that it found nothing while a section it had checked met every requirement.
- Fixed an issue where a failed update download kept showing progress instead of reporting the failure and offering the manual download link.
- Fixed an issue where closing the app during an update check could show an update error.
- Fixed an issue where an edit that was refused looked as though it had been accepted: the value stayed on screen while the model kept the old one. A refused edit now says why.
- A cross-section whose bending axes are coupled (an L-shape, or a rectangle reinforced off-centre) now reports its bending utilization against the capacity in the load's own direction on every load, not only on a biaxial one.
- Fixed an issue where a hairline void or a duplicated edge in an imported drawing was taken as the web width, so a hollow core slab could report a shear utilisation of tens of thousands of percent.
